2024 St Maarten Snap Election Poll
The purpose of this independent election poll, conducted by Livae Research & Development, is to provide valuable insights perceptions and demographics of voters.
Its findings are based on a sample of voters, taken between 30 July and 3 August 2024, and reflect voter perceptions of that time. As such, things may have changed. We furthermore acknowledge that publishing our findings may also impact voter perceptions.
Bias is inevitable, we therefore ask to interpret our findings as estimates, with a margin of uncertainty, not as facts.

Methods
We want to stress the value of accurate information. The purpose of the poll is to provide insights into real life phenomena. The more accurate the insights, the more value it creates for all. When we see a doctor for our health, we value their honest diagnosis, the same applies to the analysis of the poll.
Ideally the people participating in the poll accurately reflect the entire voting population in St. Maarten.
One way of establishing this is by ‘probability sampling’, so that every person has an equal chance of ending up in the sample. However, due to time and resource constraints, we opted to announce our poll in The Daily Herald and use a type of snowball sampling, where people forward the message to others.
To account for the bias of this sampling method, we performed checks after collecting data. Click on the button below for a detailed explanation.
